Resolved Question: LCD or Plasma television?

So Wal Mart's 32'' tv's are becoming really cheap estimated to about 400$ or maybe less for Christmas and my dad says that Plasma doesn't last as long and has worse resolution. Yet I want one because I think they are cooler looking honestly and has darker kinda contrast with the look.
