Resolved Question: What sort of Camera should i get?

I know it's a popular question but it's true. I am looking for an HD camera. Or at least a camera that doesn't look grainy and home made when I transfer it to the computer or TV. I asked the questio before but typed in 350 as my highest payment. I will pay up 1000 $. 350$ is my lowest because I don't want a crappy kind that generous parents give to their children. I would like to use it for traveling and documenting friends and family's time together as well as making mini-productions for local film festivals and the such. What would you suggest?...
